Your Devotional message for 23nd April 2021
Scripture:
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way (Matthew 13:25, NKJV).
Explanation:
It is easy to think literally the meaning of this statement spoken by the Lord Jesus to mean the planting of the actual wheat and tares. The striking sentence ‘but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way’ (Mathew 13:25, NKJV) is a reality today even independent of advances of medical sciences. The purpose of this subject is not to teach you demonology or exorcism but to expound your understanding to the mystery of sicknesses of unknown aetiologies. There are those who have sown their lives as agents of darkness into doing evils. Tares are those evil things sown in the spirit of a man through the act of wickedness of the devil and his agents. Previously, I was literally thinking that wheat and tares are plants in the farm whereas these words were spiritually coded words used figuratively by the Lord Jesus. However, the understanding of this statement became clearer to me later after I had an Angelic encounter. The Angel expounded that certain incurable diseases are resident inside the Human body but emerged through the spirit of a man in the unconscious state while he or she is asleep. This is the meaning of but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way (Matthew 13:25, NKJV).
Many people may seem less aware of the spiritual activities of the devil in the World. The more you are ignorant the better for their scheme to steel, to kill and to destroy lives of men. A lack of this awareness can result into premature morbidity, fatality, and mortality.
We will cover more of spiritual roots in the next 2 chapters during our expose to gain awareness and understanding of curses, spells, enchantment, and evil arrow.
Let now delve into examples of these diseases of spiritual roots.
Plagues and pestilence resulting from the sinful nature of man:
The effect of sins needs to be considered circumspectly because they can be easily overlooked. This can be easily taken for granted in today’s world endowed with Technology and science. We had discussed before that there are several kinds of sins, iniquity, transgression, and trespasses. Example of this spiritual roots is such as plagues or pestilence (Pandemic). Although there are physical causes but spiritually driven: ‘Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins (Leviticus 26:21).
Then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues—great and prolonged plagues—and serious and prolonged sicknesses. Moreover, He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. Also, every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed (Deuteronomy 28: 59-61, NKJV).
Following recognition of this event it is pertinent to seek the Lord for the spiritual solution, In this case, repentance, mercy and intercessory prayers.
The diseases caused by disobedience:
Some authors have explored a description of certain infectious agents as the meaning of terrible diseases of Egypt, however some may have physical links to infectious agents but spiritually driven. They encompass all terrible disease that caused misery, death, and bereavement in those days. The fundamental issue was the act of disobedience to God. God is the Healer. However, disobedience to God commandment is a known root for certain diseases right from ages and can spring through disobedience. Example of our case study is that of Spiritual Act by God through Moses because of disobedience to God. So, the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take for yourselves handfuls of ashes from a furnace and let Moses scatter it toward the heavens in the sight of Pharaoh. And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and it will cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt” (Exodus 9:8-9, NKJV).
Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because for he had married an Ethiopian woman (Numbers 12:1-2). When the anger of the Lord aroused against them, Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper. So, Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord! Please do not lay this sin on us, in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned. Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb!
Another good example of this case was when the Philistines took the Ark of God and brought it to the House of Dagon. When the people of Ashdod arose, Dagon had died. However, more terrible thing happened in Ashdod. In 1 Samuel 5:6-7, But the hand of the Lord was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and He ravaged them and struck them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory. And when the men of Ashdod saw how it was, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, for His hand is harsh toward us and Dagon our god.”

Diseases caused by Evil and wickedness:
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart (Genesis 6:5-6). Likewise, it can be understood from the scripture that: “No, in heart you work wickedness; You weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth” (Psalm 58:2). It is possible for a man to be attacked with sickness and diseases because of evil and wickedness. Some people think of this knowledge as foolishness, but to the detriment of the one acting foolishly in contrary to this spirituality of diseases. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts (Psalms 7:13, NKJV). Let death seize them; Let them go down alive into hell, for wickedness is in their dwellings and among them (Psalm 55:15). I remember a day that one of the cases I dealt with of a man with disseminated Pancreatic cancer, when the Lord freed him and healed him, he decided to return to work. While he got to work, 2 of his colleagues decided to run away. Why would make these 2 men ran away? Only God would be able to reveal such secret.
Thanks be to God Who has promised us Divine health and healings. Therefore, I love to ponder over Psalms for instance Psalms 23, 103 and 91. Surely, the Psalmist in chapter 91 says: He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday (Psalm 91:3-6, NKJV).
Diseases caused by influence of demonic spirits:
The operation and influence of demons on health and life of men are known. Their mission is to steel, to kill and destroy (John 10:10). Examples are:
The Case of Centurion’s servant: Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him” (Matthew 8:5-7, NKJV).
The Case of an unclean spirit:
Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. (Mark 1:23-26, NKJV).
Another Case: Sick people brought unto His disciples:
Also, a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed (Acts 5:16).
The spirit of Infirmity is a demonic spirit known for causing sickness and diseases. The scripture describes different hierarchical demonic powers that has mission to steel, kill and destroy life of people. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13).
Following recognition of this event after seeing the report of your doctor, as part of your knowledge of selfcare, if you have any confirmation that the root cause of your diseases has spiritual root, it is pertinent to seek the Lord for the spiritual solution, In this case, repentance, mercy and intercessory prayers. Understand that you need to gain the knowledge of divine healings. As a disciple, you are giving the right to heal sickness and diseases. And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease (Matthew 10:1).

Confession:
Lord grant me the grace so that the Holy Spirit may bring forth the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit give permission. The word of God is in my mouth. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, it is piercing even to the division of my soul and spirit, and of my joints and marrow, and is a discerner of my thoughts and intents of the heart.
I prosper in all my ways and have good success daily, monthly and all years to the Glory of God in the name of Jesus. My body is healthy and strong. I refuse sickness, diseases, and evils of this world. I exercise my dominion over devil and the cohorts of darkness. From today I declare my victory and protection in the name of Jesus.
