Your Devotional message for 25th August 2021
Scripture:
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47).
Explanation:
In today, day 25 of 31 days of our Daily Meditation, on the series of the Grace and Mercy of God we will explore our understanding of His mercy.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study on the knowledge of God’s Grace and Mercy. Interestingly, the God wants you to come bold and obtain mercy. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). One of the desperate prayers that you can render to God to obtain mercy is to ask for ‘Lord, have mercy on me’. This was what the Blind Bartimaeus did.
Here are a few of the scriptures expounding on the God of mercy:
We will use men who went through afflictions in the scriptures:
Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have mercy on His afflicted (Isaiah 49:13).
The blind Bartimaeus healed:
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47).
Two blind men healed: Their eyes were opened after Jesus ministered unto them.
When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” (Matthew 9:27).
An epileptic son healed by Jesus Christ:
“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So, I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”(Matthew 17:15). The child was under the affliction of demonic spirit. So,
Jesus rebuked the demon, and the child was cure in that very hour.
Are you facing temptation or challenges of life and has been told there is no solution?
Ask God to show His mercy on you. Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation (Psalm 85:7). He can deliver you from every issue of life where there seems no solution. Great deliverance He gives to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore (Psalm 18:50).
If you are yet to receive Christ Jesus, do so today and repent from all your sins and make Him the Lord of your life.
Thanks be to God for His fullness, grace and His victory. Glory be to God!
Stay tune as we shall continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
In the Month of August 2021, do not miss any day as we will be exploring ‘The Grace and Mercy of God’
Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
Further Reading scriptures to meditate:
Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:39).
