Your Devotional message for 9th October
Scripture:
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17).
Explanation:
When the Lord God is speaking, do you hear? It is not uncommon that a proportion of Christians do not hear when God speaks. This can be very challenging. Someone said that God doesn’t speak to us directly anymore. Ignorance is bad and very destructive.
We continue today, day 9 of the 31 days of our new series called when ‘The Lord Spoke’.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study and meditation on hearing the Voice of God. Yesterday we discussed that it is very important to recognize the gifts of the Holy Spirit and could be one of the ways by which God speaks to you as a child of God.
Today we meditate upon another very important aspect of the theme hearing through the gifts of revelation which are (the gift of the word of wisdom, the gift of the word of wisdom and the gift of discerning of the Spirits). Paul knew the importance of these revelation gifts and that is reflected in one of his prayers for the Corinthians: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17). The Word of Wisdom:
The “Word of Wisdom” is Gods Wisdom pertaining to future events.
When an Angel of the Lord Spoke to Philip to arise from Jerusalem to Gaza and go and meet the man of Ethiopia.
Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
So, Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” (Acts 8:29-30).
The Word of Knowledge:
Following the healing of Naaman, the Syrian commander of the army of the King of Syrian, from his leprosy by Elisha, Gehazi the servant of Elisha received two talents from the gift brought by Naaman and stored them in his house. Elisha knew by the Spirit of God.
Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you go, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant did not go anywhere” (2 Kings’ 5: 25). This is by gift of the Word of Wisdom.
The discerning of spirits: This gift might permit a believer the ability to see angels, demons, or even Jesus Himself even when others cannot. Example was that of Paul’s encounter with a certain slave girl who was possessed with a spirit of divination. And this she did for many days. Paul promptly discerned the spirit behind her voice and actions that it was demonic and commanded the spirit to be casted out.
But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her” (Acts 16:18

Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healing, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
