Your Devotional message for 8th October
Scripture:
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord (1 Corinthians 12: 4-5).
Explanation:
We continue today, day 8 of the 31 days of our new series called when ‘The Lord Spoke’.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study and meditation on hearing the Voice of God. It is very important to recognize the gifts of the Holy Spirit and could be one of the ways by which God speaks to you as a child of God. These are gifts because you do not own them as they are the operation of the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord (1 Corinthians 12: 4-5). Therefore, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all (1 Corinthians 12:7).
Today we meditate upon another very important aspect of the theme hearing through the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in you. These gifts according to 1 Corinthians 12: 7-11 can be best divided into 3 categories for functional clarity: The Gifts of Power are (the gifts of Healing, the gift of faith and the gift of the working of the miracles); The vocal gifts are(prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues and the gifts of revelation are (the gift of the word of wisdom, the gift of the word of wisdom and the gift of discerning of the Spirits). The activation of these gifts can be preceded by speaking in tongues.
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on Hearing the Voice of God:
For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills (1 Corinthians 12:7).
I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification (1 Corinthians 14:5).
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye (Psalm 32:8).

Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healing, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
