Your Devotional message for 26th March 2021
Scripture:
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17, NKJV)
Explanation
Today we shall be examining the fall of man (Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden) and the consequences of the event in relation to health and diseases. It may sound foolishness to many in the World today to accept this Truth. This is the greatest reason God had to plan for salvation of man after Adam and Eve fell in the garden of Eden.
Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”(Genesis 2:15-17, NKJV). Unfortunately, the serpent deceived Eve. When Eve saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate (Genesis 3:6-7, NKJV). Their eyes were opened and knew they were naked following such a serious deleterious fall due to disobedience. The consequences of their fall mean they were driven out of the garden of Eden.
This brought death as a great penalty to man. Other consequences spoke by God to Adam include “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:17-19, NKJV). To the woman, God’s punishment was that He will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children (Genesis 3:16, NKJV). Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned (Romans 5: 12, NKJV).
As every man has generational root from Adam, every man before receiving salvation had received the consequences of Adamic sin but thank God that this sin was forgiven if you receive Jesus as your Lord and saviour. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come (Romans 5:13-14, NKJV).
Naturally, for death to occur, the body must be sick of sickness and diseases. Therefore, by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23, NKJV). Adamic sin brought death to human, and the Judgement of God came to all men (Romans 5:18, NKJV).
In conclusion, it is by scripture that we understood that “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17, NKJV).
