Your Devotional message for 5th October
Scripture:
The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; the Lord is over many waters (Psalms 29:3).
Explanation:
We continue today, day 5 of the 31 days of our new series called when ‘The Lord Spoke’.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study and meditation on hearing the Voice of God.
It is very important to recognize when God is speaking as a child of God. A child must recognize and communicate with his/her father. This is part of our communion, as you develop the ability to pray and to hear His Voice. God is Spirit and He can decide when to speak, the pitch, ways, and style of communications. Today we meditate upon another very important aspect of the theme ‘the God of glory Who thunders.’ As the scripture says: ‘The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; the Lord is over many waters’ (Psalms 29:3). Whenever the Glory of the Lord is present the totality of His presence and power would be evident along with His voice and signs. On one occasion the sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of Moses and the children of Israel (Exodus 24:17). In our churches nowadays, we should desperately ask God just like Moses to show us His glory (Exodus 33:3).
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on The God of glory thunders:
Moses and the Jews: Moses and the Israelite had several encounters with the Glory of God. In Number 14:10 we understood that the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children of Israel.
During the reign of King Solomon: And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord. Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud. I have surely built You an exalted house, and a place for You to dwell in forever” (1 Kings 8:10-13).

Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healing, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
