Your Devotional message for 30th January 2023
Scripture:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Explanation:
Your mind is crucial as you begin the journey of this year. If there is anything you must work upon from now is a transformation towards a sound mind. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Your mind has both physical and spiritual function. Therefore, your mind must stay on the Lord as He will keep you in perfect peace. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3). Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind’ (Matthew 22:37). May you receive a sound mind and the mind of Christ.
As you walk in the glory of the Lord, the Holy Spirit will reveal His counsel about the Promises of God, His plans, guidance, direction, instructions, and enlightenment.
In today Daily Meditation, day 30 of the 31 days of the month of December, we will study and meditate on these scriptures relating to our new series ‘The counsel of the Lord’.
You must have the mind of Christ:
For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober minded (Titus 2:6)
Let us examine different negative minds to avoid as in the scripture:
The carnal mind:
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).
The debased mind:
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting (Romans 1:28).
The double-minded:
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4:8).
Here are further scriptures:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5).
Every evil counsel against your mind to derail you from your destiny shall be turned into foolishness in the name of Jesus Christ. You will walk in the counsel of the Lord for your life. I pray for you that in this year the Lord shall bring to you revelation of His counsel, favour, mercy, blessing, success, and progress in the name of Jesus. Glory be to God.

Today, let me encourage you that Jesus Christ came for your salvation and to give you freely Eternal life. If you are yet to receive Christ, do so today by repentance from all your sins and confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and saviour.

This month Our God, the Great Counsellor shall manifest His glory in your life in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
