Your Devotional Message for 29th October
Scripture:
To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
(1 Corinthians 12:10)
Explanation:
We will continue today, day 29 of the 31 days of this series called ‘The Lord Spoke’. We will gain further understanding of the other ways by which the Lord speaks to His people leading to us ‘hearing the Voice of God’, more importantly by the gift of discerning of spirits. This gift is the ability to know if the spirit in operated is a Divine, human demonic spirits. It is not the same as discernment. To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10).
The Gift of discerning of spirits is the supernatural ability to discern and distinguish different kind of spirits in the operation. Jesus operated with this gift of discerning of spirits. For instance, when He met a man with an unclean spirit and recognized the spirit as unclean spirit and commanded him to “Come out of the man”. “Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains”
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on Hearing from God – By the gift of the interpretation of tongues:
Example of Jacob’s vision: Jacob immediately recognized what He saw were angels of God. So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is God’s camp.” And he called the name of that place Mahanaim (Genesis 32:1-2).

Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
