Your Devotional Message for 29th November
Scripture:
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (Colossian 2:15, NKJV).
Explanation:
You will be seriously erred to think that all the troubles and afflictions that affect men in the World today are physical. There is a spiritual dimension to life. Life is spiritual and has route in the spirit. Jesus said that “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profitsnothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
Many troubles and afflictions are orchestrated as evils and wickednessby the demonic powers. The reality is Jesus Christ has given you authority over these powers. Therefore, you must learn the act of prayers and plug into the resurrection Power of the Holy Spirit. Glory be to God.
We will continue our Daily Meditation today, day 29 of 30 days of our series called living ‘the Higher spiritual life in Christ Jesus’ in which we have been called. We will meditate on scriptures that pertain toknowledge of the Power of God over evils and wickedness.
This is very crucial to access thevictory that Christ obtained for His believers from the Cross and Resurrection. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (Colossian 2:15, NKJV).
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). You must learn how to engage in spiritual warfare and intercessory prayers as well as speaking in tongues. Jesus Christ spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33).You must exercise authority over the power of evils and wickedness in prayer using all the tools that God has provided.There are defensive armouries called the Armour of God (Ephesians 6:11-20).The scripture enlightens us ofdifferent offensive armouries to use against the power of evils and wickednesssuch as:
The Blood of Jesus, the Fire of the Holy Spirit, the Arrow of the Mighty, His Angel, The Craftsmen, The Host of Heavens and so many more.
The Name of Jesus Christ is to be used for this authority:
Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11,NKJV).
The case of Philip:
Philip was one of the Deacons who demonstrated such Authority as he went to the City of Samaria to preach Christ. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing, and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed, and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city (Acts 8:6-8).
May you be victorious over the evils and wickedness in this World in the name of Jesus.
