Your Devotional message for 28th April 2021
Scripture:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:18-20, NKJV).
Explanation:
Have you ever been told that you need a kind of training with regards to communication skills? Not so much about just talking, but the ability to communicate effectively with others is a very complex subject. I discovered that prayer is similitude of an act of communications. Prayer is transcending between physical and spiritual realms. It is a form of communication. Therefore, if you are recommended to learn communication skills, why do you think that you ought not to learn the Act of prayers as a believer? I read a book written by Pastor Chris one time and it is amazing the title ‘Praying the Right Way.’
The book offers you simple, tested, and proven principles of effective prayer. It also ignites in your heart an enduring passion for prayer.
Jesus Christ spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). During the time of Jesus Christ ministry on Earth, he did awesome and great works that even the Gospel of John wrote that “there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.” This is amazing Great works.
As I learned through the Scripture Jesus Christ was not actually spending several minutes praying for people to be healed but would heal the sick by speaking a Word, or multitude will throng on him, others will receive healings through his touch, and by casting out demons. He was full of the fullness of God and with Holy Ghost. However, he would spend several hours praying at his closet.
The different kinds of prayers that would help with effectiveness for Healings:
Prayer of thanksgiving – simply giving thanks to God for He has provided the healing. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me (John 11:41).
Praying in Tongues – Paul said that
I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification (1 Corinthians 14:5).
The Prayer of faith – Prayer of faith is a form of prayer based on faith using the Word of God to pray for a sick by the elders or a believer. For instance, the scripture gave us the various steps here saying: Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:13-16, NKJV)
Deliverance and Casting out devils (demons) – One of the areas of prayers that most believers would find challenging is deliverance especially whether it is still required to cast out demons nowadays? Deliverance is not only required for demonic possession. God is constantly delivering His people from evil and wickedness. Casting out demon causing sickness and any kind of disease is crucial using the Power of God only. Some people have made assumptions that what about if the demonic spirit would come back with greater demons. Understanding that it is the Holy Spirit that would exorcise demon and not you are crucial. You do not have to see the spirit physically because they have no physical body. Part of requirement to attain a complete restoration for a spiritually mediated sickness would be to cast out the spirit behind the issue and rebuke powers and altars used as well. Jesus Christ demonstrated this Power over demons to us as example to follow. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” He further gave his disciples.
the power to do so. And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease (Matthew 10:1).
Prayer of intercessions and spiritual warfare – We have previously discussed the spiritual warfare which also overlapped with Intercessions. Therefore, I exhort first that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. (1 Timothy 2:1-3, NKJV).
Understanding how to pray right is an essential aspect of Christian growth. Paul had suggested “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:18-20, NKJV).

Confession:
Lord grant me the grace so that the Holy Spirit may bring forth the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit give permission. The word of God is in my mouth. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, it is piercing even to the division of my soul and spirit, and of my joints and marrow, and is a discerner of my thoughts and intents of the heart.
I prosper in all my ways and have good success daily, monthly and all years to the Glory of God in the name of Jesus. My body is healthy and strong. I refuse sickness, diseases, and evils of this world. I exercise my dominion over devil and the cohorts of darkness. From today I declare my victory and protection in the name of Jesus.
