Your Devotional message for 27th September 2022
Scripture:
“Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually (Leviticus 24:2).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 27 of the 30 days of the month of September, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series‘The God of Life and Light’ – Let your lamps burn continually.
It is not enough to have the consciousness that you are son of light alone, but you must let your lamps burn day and night to give light and this is necessary due to the nature of prevailing darkness over the lives of men today. Figuratively, your oil ( Anointing) and lamp (The Word of God in you) are essential to give light.
In the book of Leviticus, the Lord gave an instruction to Moses saying: “Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually” (Leviticus 24:2).
Similarly, Jesus Christ illustrates to His disciples the Kingdom of God using the case of ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps (Matthew 25:2-4).As the foolish virgin carry no oil for their Lamp, they were not ready to meet the bridegroom. May your Lamp not be faulty, and your oil never runs dry in the name of Jesus Christ. Remember that “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14).

He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, and his life shall see the light (Job 33:28).
“The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory (Isaiah 60:19).
For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness (Psalm 18:28).
