Scripture:
Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness”(Exodus 5:1).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 26 of 30 days of the month of April we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘Our God is a consuming fire’ – Let My people go.
The people of Israel were in Egypt for over 400 years, and they needed a deliverer from the oppression. The scripture says: Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them (Exodus 3:9). Then Lord God spoke to Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go to come out of hard bondage of slavery.
Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness” (Exodus 5:1).
However, King Pharaoh would not let them go easily. Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory (Exodus 10:4).
It is obvious the people of Israel knew they were in bondage and the Lord heard their cry. This is the irony of many people today in certain form of spiritual bondage due to even and wickedness without even awareness of such less they cry to their Saviour.
Jesus Christ has come to deliver people from afflictions and bondage. Let us seek His face.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). The Fire of God is a weapon against hard bondage.
May you receive the Fire of God that brings healings to your body, deliverance, and the prosperity of your soul so that you will be distinguished in life in the name of Jesus.
