Your Devotional Message for 24th October
Scripture:
For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1: 21).
Explanation:
If you are new on this platform, let me welcome you. We will continue today, day 24 of the 31 days of this series called ‘The Lord Spoke’. Today we will gain further understanding of the other ways by which the Lord speaks to his people leading to us ‘hearing the Voice of God’, more importantly by the Spirit of prophecy.
Whenever the Spirit of prophecy come upon someone who is a believer, he or she may prophesy for the testimony of Jesus Christ, irrespective whether you are a Seer and the Prophet. You don’t have to be a seer or prophet before you prophesy. For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1: 21).
A good example happened following anointing of Saul after Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head. Samuel said that as you go ‘Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man’ (1 Samuel 10:6). So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day (1 Samuel 10:9).
When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them (1 Samuel 10:10). It became as a wonder that the people who witnessed asked that “Is Saul also among the prophets.”
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on Hearing from God – By the Spirit of prophecy:
Example of Anna a prophetess: Anna spoke of Jesus Christ at His birth
And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem (Luke 2: 38).
Example of the daughters of Philip the evangelist:
Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied (Acts 21:9).
Example by Prophet Ezekiel: The experience of Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 37, when the Lord set him down amid the valley full of dry bones. His Ministry was proceeded by an opened heaven. Also, He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”(Ezekiel 37:9). I pray that may the Lord grant you a heart that can prophesy as you desire prophesy in the name of Jesus Christ.

And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
