Your Devotional Message for 23rd October
Scripture:
To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10).
Explanation:
What makes a Seer or Prophet of God the ability to hear from the Spirit realm and convey the message of God with a degree of precision? If you have ever wondered what it takes is the gift of prophecy. Often, God may speak to His people by A Seer or a Prophet. We will continue today, day 23 of the 31 days of this series called ‘The Lord Spoke’. Today we will gain further understanding of the other ways by which the Lord speaks to his people leading to ‘hearing the Voice of God’, more importantly by the gift of prophecy.
This unique gift is often common among the Seers and the Prophets.
The scriptures highlighted that “To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues” (1 Corinthians 12:10). The Holy Spirit gives the gift according to the will of God. Paul instructed Timothy not to neglect this very gift imparted unto him. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership (1 Timothy 4:14). The gift must be stirred up. Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands (2 Timothy 1:6).
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on Hearing Lord Spoke – By the gift of prophecy:
Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!”
Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream (Numbers 12:6).
Example of the gift in Prophet Ezekiel: The experience of Prophetic Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 37, when the Lord set him down amid the valley full of dry bones. His Ministry was proceeded by an opened heaven. Again, He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! (Ezekiel 37:4).
Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour?
If you are yet to receive Christ Jesus, do so today by repenting from all your sins and make Him the Lord of your life.

Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
