Scripture:
When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me (Psalm 56:9).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 23 of the 31 days of the month of June, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series ‘The Lord, My Divine Helper’-A cry for help.
Does a righteous man need to cry out for help in time of trouble?
There are scriptures that support us to cry out to Godas Our Helper. The need for help is one of the reasons to call the God of Heaven especially in the time of troubles. This is commonly known to be an occurrence in the Old Testament. The Psalmist say that the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles (Psalm 34:17).When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me (Psalm 56:9).
The blind Bartimaeus was an example of men who cried out for help from Master Jesus. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47). Jesus Christ ministered to him on the account of his faith, and he received his sight (Mark 10:51-52).
In the dispensation of Power and Authority using the name of Jesus Christ, we need a discernment of the spirits to know when to cry for help and when to use authority. This also call for wisdom and knowledge.
I pray with you today that as you are reading this daily meditation, may the Lord arise and be your Helper and may He deliver you from all evil works in the name of Jesus.
