So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority (Genesis 39:4).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 22 of 31 days of the month of January, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘Thy Kingdom come’ – Authority of a king.
In today’s Daily Meditation we will discuss and meditate on the scriptures that relates to our chosen topic for today ‘Authority of a king.’
Authority is a delegated power. Whereas a king has power and authority within his Kingdom.
Joseph was a slave in Egyptian and per adventure of his prophetic dream he became the Prime Minister in Egypt. So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority (Genesis 39:4).
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities (Genesis 41:34-35).
And it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel (Numbers 25:13).
