The mercy of the Lord
The mercy of the Lord

Your Devotional message for 21st August 2022

Scripture:

But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments (Exodus 20:6).

Explanation:

In today Daily Meditation, day 21 of the 31 days of the month of July, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series‘The exceedingly great promise of God’ –The mercy of the Lord.

We will explore another exceedingly great promise of God to His people or disciples saying He will show mercy to thousand generations to those who love Him.God’s desire is for you to experience and enjoy His mercy.

The mercy of the Lord has the two-edged attributes of favour and judgement. It is the promise of God to remember and show His mercy whenever you are going through adversity or negative experience of life outside His temptation.

Mercy upon Joseph:

Joseph was in the prison and his dream was seriously endangered. In spite the odd against him, God’s mercy preserved him. But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gavehim favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison (Genesis 39:21).

The blind Bartimaeus:

Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:46-47).

We will now  meditate onthis promise:

Here are a few of the other scriptures expounding on For His mercy endures forever:

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations (Psalms 100:5).

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them (Psalms 103: 17-18).

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever (Psalms 118:1).

Glory be to God.

Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour?

Today, let me encourage you that Jesus Christ came for your salvation and to give you freely Eternal life. If you are yet to receive Christ, do so today by repentance from all your sins and confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and saviour.
