Your Devotional message for 21st December 2022
Scripture:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2Timothy 1:7).
Explanation:
Fear is a form of emotional torment. Have you been under the bondage of fear? I remember a case of person who was employed in a highly lucrative job but suddenly could not go out anymore due to unwanted attack of fear. He became mysteriously house bound until we were invited to pray for him. As we took authority over the spirit of fearin the name of Jesus, he was delivered and set free. Glory to Jesus.
The spirit of bondage or spirit of fear is an evilspirit linked to bondage of fear. One of the crucial aspects of deliverance is exorcism by His Exousia ( Power to cast out demon). David wrote in the book of Psalm, I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4). Reverential fear for God is different from demonic fear. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2Timothy 1:7).
May the Lord grant you mercy and victory over everyspirit of fear.
In today Daily Meditation, day 21of the 31 days of the month of December, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our new series ‘Our God, the great Deliverer’.
Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments (Psalm 112:1).
For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears (2 Corinthians 7:5).
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”(Hebrews 13:6).
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”(Romans 8:15).
Here are further scriptures:
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
As we journey through the month of December, you will be victorious no mater come your way. I pray that His mercy and grace will preserve you and keep you alive in the name of Jesus.
Glory be to God.
Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour?
Today, let me encourage you that Jesus Christ came for your salvation and to give you freely Eternal life. If you are yet to receive Christ, do so today by repentance from all your sins and confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and saviour.
Glory be to God!
