Your Devotional message for 21st June, 2023.
Scripture:
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 21 of the 30 days of the month of June, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series ‘The God that answers prayers’ – Watch and pray.
While God is the God that answers prayers and wants us to pray always, however there are responsibilities placed upon the believers that are important to be aware of. For instance, knowing that you must watch and pray because revelation, Light and the type of prayers to pray at a particular moment is crucial. Therefore, knowledge is power.
Jesus Christ said to His disciples to Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”(Mark 11:17).
We must watch and pray to identify as it is not good to be ignorant of what is happening around us. While the children of Israel were building the wall, Sanballat heard and was furious and very indignant and mocked the Jews (Nehemiah 4:1). Sanballat was joined by Tobiah the Ammonite. Nehemiah said Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night (Nehemiah 4:9).
As they watch and pray, what were they praying? Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads and give them as plunder to a land of captivity! 5 Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked You to anger before the builders (Nehemiah 4:4-5).

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).

Today, let me encourage you that Jesus Christ came for your salvation and to give you freely Eternal life. If you are yet to receive Christ, do so today by repentance from all your sins and confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and saviour.
I pray with you today, may you experience a supernatural manifestation of healings, deliverance, signs and wonders in your life, marriage, finance, business, and family in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Glory be to God!
