Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 20 of the 31 days of the month of June, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series ‘The great promises of God’ – Mercy.
In our Today daily meditation, we will explore another great promise of God relating to mercy of God and its need in the time of trouble. The Israelites are known to have been the beneficiaries of the mercy of God as they walked with God and the name of the Lord is called God of Israel. The Lord has revealed Himself in several occasions by showing them mercy from generation to generation. But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments (Genesis 20:6).
Let us look at examples of these scenarios:
Joseph is the receiver of mercy:
But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison (Genesis 39:21).
David received the mercy of God:
And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day (1King 3:6).
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16).
