Your Devotional message for 20th April, 2023.
Scripture:
To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 20 of the 30 days of the month of April, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series ‘The Love of God’ –Love your neighbour.
Since the beginning of this month, we have been on the Journey of studying and meditating on the topic – ‘the Love of God’. Just as faith is important in the Kingdom of God so also is Love. The emphasis that God places on the Love for God and the Love for our neighbour is so essential even He makes it to be precedent principle before faith.
But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”(Matthew 22:34-40).
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you(Matthew 5:44).
Thanks be to God that He loves us so much that sent Jesus Christ for us that we may have access to His favour and blessing.
