Scripture:
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6, NKJV).
Explanation:
With the advancement of Medical science and treatment, one may question whether the scenes and the Acts of God done by the Apostles especially with regards to healings when medicine fails are still required today. These are still areas that required intensive scientific research. However, it is crucial to accept that science is working at physical level and may not be able to provide answers to all life challenges. This is because Humans are created as Triune -Body, soul, and spirit. Physical body is within the physical realm and whereas the soul and spirit are within unconscious or spiritual realm. It is important to be aware that Life is spiritual. The application of Healings remains indispensable, and we shall have expose on application of the Acts of Apostles in todays’ life situations.
At the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down from heaven and the experience meant that the Disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4, NKJV). There was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh with manifestations of prophesy, visions, and dreams. There were also an accompanying signs and wonders.
What then caused The Apostles to do these works?
1.They were anointed with the Holy Ghost: They could do nothing until they have been endued with Power from above. They became dependent on the Holy Spirit.
- The Apostles were empowered: And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33, NKJV)
3. The grace of God was upon them: And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33, NKJV)
4. They were men full of faith and Power: Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business (Acts 6:3, NKJV). And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people (Acts 6:8, NKJV).
The lessons from examples of the Acts of Apostles in healings
1.A certain man lame from his mother’s womb at Beautiful gate: This man had a life changing encounter with Holy Spirit when he met Peter and John and gave his attention to them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength (Acts 3:6-7). The impact of this scenario was that the people who witnessed this were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. God is still in the Business today.
- Example of continuing Power in the Church:
And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also, a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed (Acts 5:14-15, NKJV). There are many God ordained Ministries today where these kind of great experiences of healings are taking place. They have been empowered and full of faith. - The Revival at the City of Samaria
Therefore, those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed, and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city (Acts 8:4-8, NKJV).
4.Many unusual miracles and healings wrought using handkerchiefs or aprons:
One of the amazing experiences of the Apostles that happened at Corinth while Paul visited them was that of unusual miracles and healings wrought using handkerchiefs or aprons. Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11-12,NKJV).
There are still more healings that were not able to cover today. We will have the opportunity to establish Marah Healing School where we will have opportunity to learn together and put our faith into actions while the Holy Ghost minister to His people. Glory be to God.
Stay tune as we shall continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
Confession:
Thank You Holy Spirit that you are in Me and Greater is He that is in Me than He that is in the World. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33, NKJV)
The word of God is in my mouth. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, it is piercing even to the division of my soul and spirit, and of my joints and marrow, and is a discerner of my thoughts and intents of the heart.
I prosper in all my ways and have good success daily, monthly and all years to the Glory of God in the name of Jesus. My body is healthy and strong. I refuse sickness, diseases, and evils of this world. I exercise my dominion over devil and the cohorts of darkness. From today I declare my victory and protection in the name of Jesus.
Further Reading scriptures to meditate:
Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately. So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord (Acts 9:32-35).
And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him (Acts 28:8).
