Explanation:
In our today Daily Meditation, Day 16 of the 30 days of the Great Power of God, we will explore why you must be filled with the Spirit for the operation of the Great Power of God as described in the scripture. We have already discussed that the lifestyle of prayers, mastering the principles of different prayers and praying in the Holy Spirit are very essential exercises for the Great works of God. Now let us examine the act of being constantly filled with the Spirit of God.
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down from Heaven and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The evidence of overflowing called outpouring was quickly recognized that unbelievers thought that they were drunk (Acts 2:15-18). Being filled with Holy Spirit can result into supernatural manifestations. Stephen was a good example. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. (Acts 6:8). How do you get filled with the Holy Spirit?
Speaking in Tongues allows you to be filled with the Holy Ghost:
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4, NKJV). Speaking in Tongues is activation tool for the Great Power of God for the miraculous. Speaking in Tongues allow you to build your faith: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20, NKJV).
Through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit: And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied (Act 19:6, NKJV).
In addition to these means, Paul wrote to the Ephesians 5: 17-21 other ways:
Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:17-21).
In conclusion, ask God to fill you with the 7 Spirits of God: The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2).
Study the Word of God, meditate upon the Word, and Confess the Word. Apply and confess the power in the Blood of Jesus and the Name of Jesus Christ.
Pray fervently that the schemes of the devil be destroyed, altars and evil spirits behind issues be arrested by Fire of God in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Stay tune as we shall continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
In the Month of June 2021, do not miss any day as we will be exploring ‘Operating in the realm of God’s power.’
