Biblical text:
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:13).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 14 of 30 days of the month of November, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The blood of Jesus Christ’ – Passover.
The Jewish celebration of Passover commenced during freedom from Egypt. The Passover remains a significant Jewish celebration that commemorates the story of Exodus, when God freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt according to the scripture.
In the present age this has spiritual connotation as it is figurative of spiritual bondage or affliction. Are you going through a form of bondage or a kind of affliction? The blood of Jesus can deliver and overcome the devil.
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:13).
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14).
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21).
