Your Devotional message for 13th October 2022
Scripture:
So, Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:24).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 13 of the 31 days of the month of October , we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series‘‘The Name of the Lord’ – Jehovah Shalom (The Lord is Peace).
Today we will explore and meditate on one of the greatest names of the God of Heavens called Jehovah Shalom. The story of when the Israelites did evil in the site of the Lord was exceptional in that God allowed punishment under the hands of their oppressors – the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples who invaded their lands and destroyed their crops. The Israelites cried out to the Lord and God appointed them a prophet. Then the Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon. This encounter with Gideon and the name Jehovah Shalom occurred once, however one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is Peace. God makes peace and is the only giver of abundance of peace. The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”(Judges 6:14).So, Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:24).
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39).
“Dominion and fear belong to Him; He makes peace in His high places (Job 25:2).
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace (Exodus 14:14).
I pray for you that May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples in the name of Jesus Christ.
