Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 13 of the 30 days of the month of June, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series ‘The God that answers prayers’ –Repentance.
The nature of sin that started with Adams is still operating as flesh in many lives today. This is critical as a sinful life can be an hinderance to an answered prayer and blessing.
A call to Repentance is a requirement from God. God is Holy and hates sins.
The Lord spoke by the mouth of Prophet Jeremiah:
They said, ‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever (Jeremiah 25:5).
Jesus Christ began His earthly ministry saying:
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17).
Jesus Christ spoke to the Pharisees: But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Matthew 9:13).
Thanks be to God for the precious blood of Christ that gave us redemption from sins.
O Lord manifest your great wonders through Your mighty power in me today that will glorify Your name for good.
