Your Devotional message for 10th October
Scripture:
Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands (2 Timothy 1:6).
Explanation:
We continue today, day 10 of the 31 days of our new series called when ‘The Lord Spoke’.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study and meditation on hearing the Voice of God. Today we meditate upon another very important aspect of the theme hearing the Voice of God, more importantly the activation of the spiritual gifts and your spiritual senses. Science confirms we have in our physical body physical senses such as sight (Vision), Hearing (Auditory), Taste (Gustatory), Smell (Olfactory), Touch and (Tactile). Likewise, these physical senses are duplicated in the spirit man.
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:12). This is not about physical solid food. As the spirit controls physical, so also the spiritual senses are supposedly meant to control the physical senses. This is not so activated in every man as many have their spiritual senses dormant and unused. Therefore, you need to activate your spiritual senses and have them exercised.
Paul knew the importance of these gifts and that is reflected in one of his prayers for the Corinthians: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17). Likewise, Paul admonished Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him. Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands (2 Timothy 1:6).
Here are a few other examples of the scriptures expounding on Hearing the Revelation Gifts:
I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification (1 Corinthians 14:5).
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues (Mark 16:17).
In the Month of October 2021, do not miss any day as we will be meditating on ‘When the Lord Speaks’
Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour?
If you are yet to receive Christ Jesus, do so today by repenting from all your sins and make Him the Lord of your life.
Thanks be to God for His fullness, grace and His victory. Glory be to God!
Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner. Lord show me Your glory. I declare that my spiritual ears, eyes, and other spiritual senses are opened to His divine revelations.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great grace and Mighty Power of God for His great works – Healing, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!

Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues (1 Corinthians 14:39).
