Your Devotional message for 8th August 2022
Scripture:
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing (Genesis 12:2).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 8 of the 31 days of the month of July, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our series‘The exceedingly great promises of God’ –The blessing.
One of the exceedingly great promises of God to His children or disciples of Christ is the blessing. The power of God to prosper in all ramifications of life.
At creation, God created man in His own image, both male and female. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28, NKJV). God gave Adam five dimensions of blessing inclusive of divine Power for fruitfulness, multiplication, replenish, subdue and to have dominion. Unfortunately, Adam lost these five folds blessing due to fall into sin by serpent temptation. The blessing upon Adam was replaced with curse, so that Adam and his house began toiling. Curses are negative opposition to the Blessing.
However, following Adamic fall, God had to make plan for salvation by re-establishing His covenant with Abraham. God called Abraham and blessed Him and His generation. Genesis 12:2-3 God said: I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” This blessing manifested upon Abraham and his generations following till today.
God is still blessing lives today just as he blessed the Patriarchs – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others in the Scripture. God desires in your prosperity. Through Christ Jesus we have received Redemption by the blood of Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV). The new covenant gives every believer who was previously a gentile by faith to access to the Abrahamic blessing.
Further scriptures:
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22, NKJV).
But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ (Romans 15:29, NKJV).
I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing (Ezekiel 34:26).

Behold, I take authority over serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness. I have the Anointing therefore I prosper, I continue prospering, until I become very prosperous. I flourish in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
