Biblical text:

For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13).

Explanation:

Daily Meditation, day 05 of 31 days of the month of January, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The God of mercy and favour’ – Mercy triumphs over Judgement.

The God of Israel is a God of mercy.  The mercy of God can exonerate someone from judgement. As I study the Bible, a very common prayer by many righteous men of God is calling God to show mercy. For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13).

In mercy the throne will be established, And One will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, Judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness (Isaiah 16:5).

You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength To Your holy habitation (Exodus 15:13).

The Psalmist prayed:

Have mercy on me, O Lord! Consider my trouble from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death (Psalm 9:3).

Further Scriptures:
Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For He has delivered the life of the poor From the hand of evildoers (Jeremiah 20:13).
