“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6).
Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 24 of 30 days of the month of April, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘Our God – the Jehovah Rapha’ – The role of prayer and fasting.
The prescription of prayer and fasting as spiritual weapons is dated from the Old Testament. When the disciples of Jesus Christ could not cast out a Dumb and deaf spirit from a child. Jesus then rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more! The spirit came out.

Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11).
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mark 16:17-18).
