My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word (Psalm 119:148).
Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 22 of 28 days of the month of February, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The Ministry of the Word of God’ – Meditation on His word.
The word of the God of Heavens is not just for reading and studying as many would think. You are required to meditate upon the Word until it enters and permeate the very elements of your mind and heart. Failure to do so may limit your experience and encounter with the spiritual reality of His Words. My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word (Psalm 119:148).
I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search (Psalm 77:6).
This is the experience of the Psalmist here who spent the night watches on the Word of God. Likewise, God told Joshua to meditate on His word to see success and his ways be prosperous.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Joshua 1:8).
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:3).
For I am the Lord. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it,” says the Lord God (Ezekiel 12:25).
