Biblical text:

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings (Hosea 6:6).

Explanation:

Daily Meditation, day 15 of 31 days of the month of January, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The God of mercy and favour’ – The Lord desires mercy and not sacrifice.

The God, Almighty is the God of Israel and He is the God of mercy. Mercy is giving people what they need, not deserve, because that’s what God does with us! No wonder the scripture says the Lord desires mercy and not sacrifice.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings (Hosea 6:6).

You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength To Your holy habitation (Exodus 15:13).

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you (Hosea 10:12).

But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord, in the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, Hear me in the truth of Your salvation (Psalm 69:13).

Let us meditate on these scriptures:

Further Scriptures:
And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise”

(Luke 10:37).
