Biblical text:
Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 14 of 31 days of the month of October, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The Covenant-keeping God’ – The New Covenant.
Jesus Christ was the fulfilment of the New Testament. He was the Son of God who gave His life as a sacrifice for the accomplishment of the New Testament. One of the promises of God spoken through the mouth of His prophets was that of the New covenant.
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah – not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 31:31-32).
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom (Matthew 26:26-29).
May you receive a dumbfounding blessing and an open heaven in this month, an encounter that brings transformation and restoration in your life and you will be distinguished in life in the name of Jesus.
