Scripture:
“Therefore, know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9, NKJV).
Explanation;
Have you ever asked yourself why are so many of the Jews become so rich and wealthy? What is the secret of their wealth? The answer is written in the Scripture and is because of the Covenant that Abraham had with God. “Therefore, know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9, NKJV). Covenant is a powerful thing and is an agreement, deed or other legal contract that is binding. It is an agreement between God and His people. There are a few crucial covenants in the Bible such as the Noahic Covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, the Davidic Covenant, and the New Covenant.
Following the call of Abraham, The Lord made Him a blessing:
“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you;
and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:2-3).
He became rich in silver and gold as the currency of those days was in silver and gold:
“Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold” (Genesis 13:2).
God established His covenant with Abraham and His descendants thus: When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also, I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you, and your descendants after you throughout their generations (Genesis 17:1-9, NKJV). Abraham fulfilled His part of the covenant through faith in the promise of God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” (Romans 4:3, NKJV).
Isaac reaped a plentiful harvest from His Business of sowing because of the Power of the blessing on His life:
“Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him” (Genesis 26:12).
The Old Testament was good however Jesus has been a surety of a better covenant – The new Covenant. He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises (Hebrews 8:6, NKJV). And for this reason, He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance (Hebrews 9:15, NKJV). The New Covenant was a fulfilment of the prophecy of Jeremiah saying, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
The New Covenant gives us a better access to God and His Power. We now have authority over evils and darkness of this world. It is important to discover this secret of our authority to bind and loose the grip of wickedness in this World. This is possible because now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13, NKJV). This is how Jesus sealed the covenant: And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:26-28, NKJV). Finally, and if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29).
Stay tune as we shall look continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
Confession:
I have a covenant with God Almighty. I am covenanted child. I am a light to the gentiles. The word of God is in my mouth. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, it is piercing even to the division of my soul and spirit, and of my joints and marrow, and is a discerner of my thoughts and intents of the heart.
I prosper in all my ways and have good success daily, monthly and all years to the Glory of God in the name of Jesus. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. My body is healthy and strong. I refuse sickness, diseases, and evils of this world. I exercise my dominion over devil and the cohorts of darkness. From today I declare my victory and protection in the name of Jesus.
