Scripture:
In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom comes. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 5 of 31 days of the month of January, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘Thy Kingdom come’ – Hallowed be Your name.
In today’s Daily Meditation we will discuss and meditate on the scriptures that relates to our chosen topic for today ‘Hallowed be Your name.’
Over the course of ages, it is known to people of Israel that the Names of God are to be hallowed with reverence. The Lord God responds to His names, and He revealed Himself to man. Likewise, it is to us a Christians that God honours His name.
In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus Christ thought His disciples to hallow the name of God. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom comes. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10).
The name of Jesus Christ also is revealed to be used by His disciples as authority is vested in the name.
Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).
May you receive the power and the supernatural grace of God that will make you to reign in life in the name of Jesus.
