Your Devotional message for 20th June 2022
Scripture:
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm (Matthew 8:26).
Explanation:
We discussed yesterday that it is the expectation of God to see His children operating in great faith. This is the more reason Jesus Christ spoke at different situations of five different levels of faith – faithless, small faith as a mustard seed, little faith, great faith, have faith in God. “O you of little faith” is a rebuke against fear or worry to give us clarity on the expectation to operate with great faith.
In today Daily Meditation, day 20 of the 30 days of the month of June, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our new series ‘The Realm of Faith’ – Challenge your little Faith.
We will explore why you must challenge your little faith. Little faith cannot combat worry or difficult life challenge, or stormy situations of life. When Jesus got inside a boat and was accompanied by His disciples. Suddenly, a great tempest arose, and the boat was in danger from boisterous wind.
Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So, the men marvelled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” (Matthew 8:25-26).

Peter became fearful when Jesus invited him to walk on the water:
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased (Matthew 14:31-32).

Today, let me encourage you that Jesus Christ came for your salvation and to give you freely Eternal life. If you are yet to receive Christ, do so today by repentance from all your sins and confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and saviour.

It is written, “And my speech and my preaching will not be with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I take authority over serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness. My life prospers, continued prospering, and I flourish in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, financial abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

1. Thanks be to God that I respond to the word of God with great faith.
2. My Father as I pray, I declare that overcome every situation of fear and storming wind against my advancement in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. We pray and agree for peace of God to reign in the Nations of Russia and Ukraine under war right now.
