Your Devotional message for 29th August 2021

Scripture:
To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him (Daniel 9:9).
Explanation:
In today, day 29 of 31 days of our Daily Meditation, on the series of the Grace and Mercy of God we will explore our understanding of His mercy in combination with forgiveness.
The purpose of this series is ushering you to a deeper study on the knowledge of God’s Grace and Mercy. Let us examine the scriptures of the benefits of the combined attributes of God of mercy and forgiveness. This is very crucial to avert the rath and judgement of God in the mist of iniquity, transgression, or disobedience either by individual or nation. To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him (Daniel 9:9). We had studied and meditated yesterday that “he who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honour” (Proverbs 21:21). God is full of compassion as He does not desire even the wicked to perish.
Here are a few of the other scriptures expounding on the dual attributes of mercy and truth:
His Attributes of mercy and forgiveness in Old Testament: God showed Himself with these attributes before Moses at Mount Sinai.
Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation”(Exodus 34:5-7).
Jesus Christ showed His Mercy and forgiveness:
But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 7 And he arose and departed to his house (Matthew 9:6).
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43)
What is the conclusion about mercy and truth?
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart (Proverbs 3:3).
Are you facing temptation or challenges of life and has been told there is no solution?
Ask God to show His mercy on you. Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation (Psalm 85:7). He can deliver you from every issue of life where there seems no solution. Great deliverance He gives to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore (Psalm 18:50).
If you are yet to receive Christ Jesus, do so today and repent from all your sins and make Him the Lord of your life.
Thanks be to God for His fullness, grace and His victory. Glory be to God!
Stay tune as we shall continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
In the Month of September 2021, do not miss any day as we will be exploring ‘The favour of God’
Faith Confession for Grace and Power:
Our Father, Thank you, for another day. I shall be glad and rejoice in You. Thank you for salvation, divine health, grace and glory, provision, protection, and supernatural enablement. And I declare boldly that I am aglow and strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom of God; and the grace of God is upon me (Luke 2:40). The Holy Spirit is my Senior Teacher and Partner.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19). I operate with the great Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the great power of God.
I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness with the Fire of the Holy Ghost. I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Success, wealth, abundance and victory are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Glory be to God!
Further Reading scriptures to meditate:
For though I were righteous, I could not answer Him; I would beg mercy of my Judge (Job 9:15).
