Your Devotional message for 19th July 2021
Scripture:
And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.” (1 Samuel 4:22).
Explanation:
Today is day 19 of 31 days of the Daily Meditation on the theme ‘basking in the Glory of God.’ we will look at the departed glory of God. The glory of God is the nature and what God is. Anywhere the Glory of God is manifested, there is His presence, His fullness, His Power, the Anointing and the blessing.
The glory of God in man allows the supernatural manifestations of His acts and works are bound to take place. If there is anything to desperately seek the Lord for a restoration for this generation is the glory of the Lord. In the last two years, the World has seen the terrifying effect of COVID-19. Darkness is looming the life of individuals, ministries, and churches across the globe. Can the glory of God be departed? Yes.
The glory of God can depart suddenly; or it may be a gradual departure caused by a life of sin – mostly secret sins that reflect in the enthronement of self and a replacement of God’s presence with worldly glamour instead of divine glory.
Let us now study a few scriptural examples that were written for our admonition:
When the Ark of God was captured by Philistines:
Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”
A typical example is the story of the King of Babylon (1 Samuel 4:21-22).
Following a vision by King Nebuchadnezzar and as Daniel explained the second dream: At 12 months The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?” (Daniel 4:30). It is written that: That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claw. (Daniel 4:33).
These 2 scenarios provide departed glory because of sinful nature. Sinful nature brings shame and reproach. If you are reading this Daily Meditation and this apply to you, Repentance, asking God for forgiveness and prayer to ask God to restore your glory. Feel free to get in touch, with our team.
Glory be to God!
Say I am a carrier of the glory of God. Study and meditate on the Word of God. Pray in the Spirit often. Expect and ask God to manifest His Glory and the Angelic ministration.
Thanks be to God for His glory.
Stay tune as we shall continue further tomorrow. Remain uncommonly blessed.
In the Month of July 2021, do not miss any day as we will be exploring ‘Basking in the glory of God’
Faith Confession for Power:
Thank you, Lord for the Spirit of the Lord is at work in me. Let the sight of the glory of the Lord be as a consuming fire around my life that make my adversaries to flee.
It is written, “And my speech and my preaching will not be with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4). Behold, I receive the authority and power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Therefore, I rule over Satan and his cohort of darkness. I operate in the great Power of God for His great works – Healings, miracles and signs and wonders. The word of God is in my mouth like Fire and as I meditate, it permeates to the deep part of my Spirit, soul, and body. I am manifesting the power and the glory of God.
I prosper in my spirit, soul, and body. My life is flourishing in all areas of life as well as my health even as my soul prospers. Prosperity and success are mine in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Further Reading scriptures to meditate:
And he said, “Brethren and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran (Acts 7:2).
